I honestly debated whether I should even write a recipe for these Chocolate Covered Pretzel Rods because they were sooooo easy to make. They only take 3 simple ingredients after all! But I decided to go ahead with the recipe because I’m sure somebody, SOMEWHERE out there will be looking for easy dessert ideas for their next party. If I’m able to help at least one person simplify their life with these pretzel rods, then it’ll be worth it!

The chocolate I use in this recipe consists of a large 24 oz bar of vanilla almond bark that you can find at any local grocery store. It’s very convenient to work with because the bar is divided into smaller, cubed bricks that easily break off at the seam. You can melt a couple cubes at a time in order to measure exactly how much you’ll need for each color. For me, since I was working with four colors, I split the bar evenly four ways into separate bowls and melted them each in the microwave. I then dyed each bowl of melted chocolate the desired colors. If the bowl is wide enough, you can dip the pretzel rods into the bowl and use a spoon to help cover it well. Otherwise, if you want a “smoother” look, you can pour the dyed chocolate into a tall, thin cup. This will allow you to simply dip the pretzel rod straight down into the cup and pull it straight out with it covered perfectly in chocolate.

Not only are these rods incredibly easy to make, but they also taste amazing and look great on any dessert table. They bring everything together and add immense appeal to your décor. I actually made these for a Star Wars themed baby shower and labeled them as “Lightsabers.” It worked out quite nicely by dying the chocolate into all the different colors of lightsabers (with the addition of a special “pink lightsaber” to honor the baby girl). Since it’s really your choice what color you want to dye the chocolate, you can use this recipe for any occasion you want! You can do all pink or blue for a gender reveal party or you can try red and green with Christmas sprinkles for the holidays. OR you can dye them orange and draw little jack-o-lantern faces on them for Halloween. The possibilities are endless. Follow the instructions on my website and feel free to get creative! 🍫 🥨 🌈
