Canai or in the language of Aceh called cane is food made from flour. Canai shaped very flat or thin. He was deliberately made so for easy frying without oil buy with margarin. In Aceh itself the stables are very easy to find, ranging from Warkop to the shelf beside the road there sells canai.
According to wikipedia rolled bread is a kind of flat bread (flatbread) with Indian influence, which is found in Indonesia and Malaysia. This bread can be found in Malaysian mamak outlets or at Aceh's restaurants in Indonesia. In Singapore, this kind of bread is named after prata. The shape and the material are similar to porotta kerala.
Still according to wikipedia the name canai refers to the name of Chennai City in India, Channa cuisine in India, or the word canai meaning dough rolled in Malay. That is the origin of the name of the roll which is then called cane in the Aceh language.
Original Canai is usually enjoyed with a sprinkling of sugar on it. But as the development of the canai era began to be modified. Canai not only dinikamti with sugar sprinkling but also with the contents of chocolate or durian content.
The picture above is a roll made in Warkop Duek Pakat Banda Aceh. I personally took the picture. Canai above is very delicious with a sprinkling of sugar.
