Canai bread or bread cane is a kind of flat bread with Indian influences that are also popular in Indonesia and Malaysia. In Indonesia bread which is also famous with Maryam bread is found in many typical restaurants Aceh. Canai is the name of Chennai City in India, as well as Channa cuisine in India, or canai word meaning dough rolled in Malay. This bread is very flat because it is made by turning thin, then folded and baked with oil, or it could be by spreading the dough as thin as possible on the grill. In Indonesia, canaan bread is usually served with curried goat or chicken curry. Cane bread is one type of bread that has a unique taste, this bread comes from the area of the port city of Aceh, which is in the middle. This cane bread recipe you usually find at various bakeries where the price is also sold not cheap. Cane bread, this name is very familiar in Aceh. Although not a real snack from Aceh, but for the taste, this Indian cake must be different every place. At a glance this Aceh cane bread looks similar to Kerala porotta cake from India, so he says culinary connoisseur. But the flavor business, Roti Cane Aceh can be pitted. In addition can be enjoyed through sugar or milk, cane bread can also be combined the same gravy curry. This crushed little cake is usually served as a breakfast, but in the month of fasting is also suitable for breaking snacks. If we go to Aceh, to enjoy in the stalls are available the most delicious cane served accompanied by coffee or tarek tea.

In addition to the coffee shop there is one place in Banda Aceh that is never empty and always crowded by visitors. The place was called Canai Mama Kuala Lumpur. Hearing his name, maybe the first thought in your mind this place is a franchise business that comes from Malaysia. Well, you are wrong because Zamzami or better known by the call Tomy owner Canai Mamak Kuala Lumpur Original people of Aceh. Inspired by his experience while working in Kuala Lumpur Tomy finally established the Canai Mamak Kuala Lumpur business on Jalan Teuku Umar Seutui Banda Aceh. As the name suggests the menu you are in this place is canai bread (cane). Bread canai is a kind of typical Indian food made from wheat flour and then fried with butter or a little oil on a flat frying pan.

Story

Ruti Cane or bread cane is a kind of bread. It looks rounded, claimed to be the precursor of martabak. The question does not need to be doubted. The question is what is the origin of the bread? This bread is very popular in some countries, such as popular English anywhere, so there are many places to learn English. And every country has its own name for that type of bread. Hence, healthy food substitute for rice is still not clear where it came from. Even so, at least you know a little about this typical culinary. Surely it is well understood that this bread is widely available in Aceh. So, if you come in Aceh, this special culinary should be considered to be brought as souvenirs.

Ruti Cane or known as bread rolls have a circle shape. The shape is flat, very similar to martabak. Only, the materials used are different. Characteristic of this bread is the layers of flour into the basic material. The flours make the appearance of bread more interesting. The reason is, the flour used in it does not blend with the others. This typical bread became the forerunner of the emergence of martabak. The only difference is in the utilization of bread stuffing. However, when viewed from the form, of course this bread is very similar to martabak. Regarding the taste, this bread is said to be more tasty. Normally, this bread is usually served with a sprinkling of sugar and honey. Others use other sprinkles. Of course, this bread is intended to replace rice. And it is true, the descendants of the Arab nation in the archipelago to familiarize this bread as daily food. Usually, this bread serves as the main menu of breakfast. For its use, this food is sprinkled with honey.

Bread Cane has many designations. Some call it bread rolls, cane bread, bread prata to maryam bread. This refers to the title in certain countries. This bread does have a long history. Clarity about its origin is questionable. Because it is typical bread is also available in various countries, such as Indonesia, Malaysia, India, even singapure. Some say this bread comes from India. This is because the naming of the cane bread itself. Its name is taken from the word Chennai from Indian madras. However, many doubted it. After all, most of these foods are consumed by the Arab descendants. In fact, these foods are more sold in restaurants typical of the middle east. In Indonesia itself, cane bread is commonly known as bread maryam. According to the story, the bread was named because it was brought by someone named maryam. This food is more common in Aceh. I do not know what the truth is, that bread is definitely popular in Aceh. If you are visiting in the city, very unfortunate if you do not taste the culinary.

Ruti Cane is considered a healthy food substitute for rice. This food has a healthy content that can meet one's nutritional needs. Among them are fiber and so forth. This bread is made from whole wheat flour. Some also use wheat flour. Just the way this bread making is a little different from the bread that you meet a lot of today. The difference is this cane bread with other bread lies in the way it is made. Normal bread normally uses yeast. While cane bread does not use yeast. The process of making only use the main ingredients with good quality only. Meanwhile, the difference is again on the side of the bread display. Bread that can be called with rolled bread has a flat shape. Then the result looks like martabak, its shape is like a whole circle. While the modern bread rot has many forms. Normally, today's bread is more shaped, bulging and softer. The shape is also different, there are circles, some are not. When viewed from the side of health, it seems maryam bread is superior compared to bread in general. Because the bread making is more natural. Good content in raw materials maintained, for example, fiber. This fiber is very needed by the body. Its function is to maintain the digestive system. These fibers remain intact in the rolled-up bread made directly with special flour. As for other types of bread, consuming too much modern bread is less good. Because modern bread is usually made by adding ingredients like yeast. This yeast is then the trigger of the problem.

The problem that will come because of this yeast is the problem of one's digestive system. The more people consume yeast foods, the greater the risk of gastrointestinal illness. Aware of the risks to be faced, of course the selection of food should be considered. For the business of bread as a substitute food, the bread rolls from Aceh could be the right choice. That is what can be said here. In essence, Ruti Cane or bread maryam has advantages in taste, and have the advantage as a substitute for rice. So, if you do not have time to eat breakfast, the consumption of bread can be a worthy replacement.
