Bread recipes #1: Pumpkin bread

Autum is pumpkins season, so I always try to find new ideas to use them in any kind of recipes! Here's my last experiment: pumpkin bread.

Ingredients:

  • 500g flour (17.64 oz)
  • 300g of pumpkin pulp (10.58 oz)
  • 12g brewer's yeast (0.42 oz)
  • 100ml water (3.53 oz)
  • 2 teaspoons of salt
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • pumpkin seeds (don't forget to keep them for the decoration)

Directions:

  1. Cut the pumpkin into cubes and steam it for 20 minutes, then whisk it and let it cool.
  2. Put the flour in a bowl, make a hole in the center and pour the pumpkin puree inside it.
  3. Melt the yeast inside water. Add this mixture, salt and oil and knead until you obtain a smooth and homogeneous dough.
  4. Form a ball and let it rise for a couple of hours or until the volume is doubled
  5. Deflate the dough and form a ball. Then place it directly on the oven tray covered with parchment paper. Then let it rise again for about 40 minutes.
  6. Make horizontal cuts on the surface and place the pumpkin seeds on top
  7. Bake in preheated oven at 200° for about 35 minutes
