I know, coffee makers suck. Cowboy style, French press, just about anything is better. But in our age of convenience, it is what it is. Of course we grind our own beans, we like a good roast, lots of oils and a great scent when you open the bag. I was brainstorming on how to add a little more strength to my brew. Then it struck me, if the water were colder, it would take more time for it to go through the heating element giving the water and coffee more time to mingle. So I used 77 degree F water and then 33F water. The time it took to brew did in lengthen by 30%, from 10:35 to 13:41. The coffee was stronger. You're welcome.
