Today's Sustainable Feast in the Garden of EdensteemCreated with Sketch.

It's fantastic day in the Garden of Eden, thus it's time for another fantastic feast!

We have LOTS of potatoes, cabbage, mushrooms, cauliflower, and onions on hand in the Garden this time of year, so we are enjoying lots of dishes with these ingredients lately.

Today, we made our cauliflower 2 ways: one batch mixed with broccoli and covered in melted cheese,

and another batch of cauliflower with red onions and healthy herbs!

We've also been making lots of quick and easy sautees and stir fries this week! Because we do all of our cooking in our outdoor kitchen on our hand built earthen rocket stoves, it's great to make fast dishes that do not require burning large amounts of firewood. Sautees and stir fries are perfect cooking methods over rocket stoves!

We threw our earthy, vitamin D & zinc-rich mushrooms in a cast iron skillet to heat on the grill.

Everyone was happy to have a big pot of mashed potatoes too! This is a classic Texas dish and an Eden Knight favorite; mashed potatoes are a welcome addition to almost any meal, and we've been enjoying them a few times a week lately too.

Food is important, and we hope to inspire people to really take time to eat, enjoy it, and share it with someone you love! We also hope to inspire more and more sustainable practices in regards to food.

Food is an integral and honored part of our reality, and it is a pleasure to provide for hungry people. If you would like to know more about our unique and super sustainable connection to our food cycle, please check out our previous post here

Great work!! Making my mouth water.
Something I've started the last couple of years to be more conscious about food and eating is to try to always give some form of thanks before a meal. Sometimes it's sort of silly and giggley, like chanting "nyum" three times (as opposed to "ohm"), but regardless focuses in gratitude for the abundance. Peace out and steem on

I'm with you @kate-m!!! I love blessing my food from the making of the soil, to collecting seed and harvesting, to putting it in my body. Gratitude changes everything!!

One of the secrets to happiness ;) So simple

True that! Ahhhh...life's simple pleasures! <3

Connecting with food is so powerful, and giving thanks certainly changes the vibes! That sounds like a fun practice for getting more out of your meals, @kate-m!

ooh cooking over charcoal on an iron pot.. thats the way to go.. i think it tastes twice as nice just by doing that!.. always salivating when i see your posts! U inspire me to get my garden going again.. The cows just came last week and demolished my lettuce bed! Now i have some space to restart it.. ;-)

Oh yes, fire adds a quality that can't be beat! Even in our grill we burn scrap wood.
Blessings to your new garden space, @eco-alex!

yep! i say that its the fire Prana that tastes the best! How else can you explain HOW good wood fired potatoes are!!!??

OHHH NO cows??!!
Yes local wildcrafted beyond organic food is nourishing of body mind and soul!

All the love we put into our food changes everything!!! Love comes in many forms. Seems your tuned into the power of it @eco-alex. Blessed to have you here.

How could i forget! Love tastes the very best of all! 200% agree!!!

Very happy to be a part of all This... ;)

Indeed it's a pleasure for us all. We appreciate the exchange. <3

too healthy <3 as always <3

We've been eating tons of veggies lately!

LOVE food! Especially the healthy homegrown kind... I guess I was spoiled. growing up with parents (in the 60s) who were all about growing our own food... long before it really became "a thing."

What a blessing to grow up with not only sound nutrition, but a connection to the food cycle! It's incredible how many modern people have no idea that where food comes from.

I too am super grateful for that blessing--I'm sure that has had a huge impact on my health. My siblings and I have all taken to growing our own food too. Funny how something so natural has become such a novelty! Good for us @denmarkguy!! Thanks for your comment.

There is nothing better than the satisfaction of growing your own food and then eating it! Love the fact that you are sharing your abundance with those in need. Thanks for doing what you do!
