Today's Sustainable Sushi Feast in the Garden of Eden

in food •  7 years ago  (edited)

It is another great day in the Garden of Eden, and we are giving thanks for more than enough of everything in this abundant life of freedom!

We made a delicious feast for our full time volunteers today - a super special SUSHI feast!

We received a donation from a sushi place, and we have enough sushi rolls of all different kinds for everyone to have as much sushi as they want!

We started with a garden salad by piling yellow squash, red and orange peppers, orange cherry tomatoes, white onions, and a sprinkling of nutritional yeast on dark green kale.

Salad made a delicious, healthy, and beautiful base for our sushi pieces!

Our main even was a huge selection of sushi rolls! Here we have tempura fried shrimp, asparagus, cream cheese, and crab salad rolled inside nori seaweed and white rice. On the outside we have crab, spicy mayo, and tempura flakes with pickled ginger and wasabi on the side.

This is a dragon roll with crab, cucumber, and eel on the inside of seaweed and rice, and avocado, eel, and eel sauce on the top.

This is a platter of a spicy California rolls with crab, cucumber, and avocado inside seaweed and rice with spicy mayo on the top.

These are crunchy rolls with crab salad and cucumber on the inside and crunchy fried tempura flakes on the outside.

This is a beautiful variation of a caterpillar roll with crab salad and cucumber inside seaweed and white rice, with thin slivers of avocado and black and white sesame seeds on the outside.

On the top, we have a spicy crunchy roll with tempura shrimp, crab salad, cucumber, avocado, and cream cheese inside seaweed and rice, and crunchy tempura flakes and spicy mayo on top. On the bottom is another spicy roll with cucumber, avocado, and crab salad inside and salmon, tempura flakes, and spicy mayo on top.

Food is important, and we hope to inspire people to really take time to eat, enjoy it, and share it with someone you love. We also hope to inspire more and more sustainable practices in regards to food!

We do all of our cooking over fire, using wood that was otherwise destined to end up in a landfill! This is our indoor wood burning stove in action - it cooks our food, warms our communal space, and heats water for hot showers all at the same time!

Food is an honored & elemental part of our daily life in community. You can learn more about our unique, intimate, and super sustainable relationship with food here!

Photos are original to our epic feast and highlight just a taste of the thousands upon thousands of free meals we share every single year.

We are happy & grateful to share our abundance - there's more than enough of everything! If you or anyone you know wants or needs food, contact us - we will give you free food, no questions asked. We make this offer every single day, because we are here to help one and all.

Because we stand in support of the greatest good & especially the revolutionary potential of this platform, we've never cashed out any $teem or even powered down - which is good for everyone! This means that when you upvote our posts, you are increasing the value of your own $teem wealth as well!

Do you believe our efforts are valuable and beneficial for the world?

Can you match our annual contributions of feeding 40,000, saving 350,000 pounds of trash from the landfill, achieving a negative carbon footprint, providing a safe space for families and children to thrive, and educating hundreds of thousands of people for free?? If you don't have the time or manpower to change the world in this way, then consider sharing your resources so we can do the work for you!

Very professional cooking, food photography, descriptions and placement of all the items in this post. Excellent job @gardenofeden.

Can you explain how you can label this as sustainable when marine biologists have make it very clear that we need to stop fishing our oceans period. Are you familiar with the UN reports on the subject? And the recent warnings of growing dead zones with a high deoxygenation rates. Not saying that your food cannot be good but I cannot se how it is sustainable ...

everything looks perfect, and with the love that manipulates these meals, God bless all the volunteers@gardenofeden

OMG!!!! drooling I made sushi today but these are top notch! I plan to have an aquaponic rainbow trout pond one day and make endless sashimi bowls. It's my FAVOURITE!

Aah, sushi is one of my faaavorities. I only eat it infrequently as my wife doesn't prefer it, but when I do, I savor it. And you all did such a great job of presentation too! You make appetizing food look even more appetizing.

What's your favorite kind of sushi?

The food you stand behind look amazing. I like to see that other people are using energy saving measures to do simple task such as cook or heating ones home. I am a support of this exact set up. I do something similar in my own way. I have an out door smoker and I use it all year round to cook. It he winter I cook in the smoking chamber with a cast iron dutch oven. Being that it is sealed so well I can use wood from around the yard that falls off the trees. I even have the option to cut down some dead trees on the property to use as well.
It's a good feeling to be able to use without wasting.
It's just as rewarding as reconnecting to your roots and the environment around you. Use whats available to you.

Today is sushi party? how delicious it looks all that I love sushi
