Here is Another Fish Curry!

Hi Friends... Few days ago I came here with the recipe for a typical South Indian fish curry, made with silver fish. Today I am here with another type of curry, which can be made with the fish Sardines or Mackerel...

This is a quick recipe, using only powders and without the use of coconut. But adding bit coconut milk surely enhances the taste.

To start with we need...
Fish Sardine or Mackerel - 1/2 Kg.
Onion - 2.
Chilly powder - 1 table spoon.
Coriander powder - 1teaspoon.
Cumin powder - 1teaspoon.
Ginger Garlic paste - 1teaspoon.
Turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon
Green chilli - 1or 2.
Curry leaves.
Coconut oil - 2 Table spoon
Salt for taste and
Tamarind juice - 2 tablespoon
Coconut milk - 1/2 cup (optional)

Method:
Clean and cut fish. Cut the onions.
In a pan or Kadai make a seasoning with coconut oil and onion pieces. Now add tamarind juice, ginger garlic paste, and all the above mentioned powders. Add some water and salt for taste. When it starts boiling, add the fish pieces. Let it boil on low flame for 2 to 3 minutes. Now switch off the flame and decorate with green Chilly pieces and curry leaves.

This is a thin curry to serve with hot steeming rice. For those who like to have a thick curry, half cup of thick coconut milk can be added while boiling.

For vegetarians, you can try this curry with the veggies like Egg plant or Brinjal, ladies finger etc, using Capsicum along with the veggies.
