Hi Friends... As we live in the coastal region of India, we get various types of fresh fish here. So many people make their living depending upon this fishing industry here. It's a real feast for eyes to see the colorful fishing boats sailing across the sea!!.
I was not eating fish in my childhood and was unknown about these fishy things!. But after my marriage in my twenties I had to learn how to make a fish curry, atleast to serve my guests...
Here I am with a fish curry using the tiny silver fish, (though small in size, it is much tasty!) in our Mangalorian style!
Clean and cut the silver Fish. (half Kg)
Keep this cleaned fish in bit salt mixed water for half an hour. This enhances the taste of the fish.
Make a Masala using a mixer or blender using these three things.
Grated Coconut. - 2 cups.
Red chilli - 2 or 3.
Tamarind juice - 1table spoon.
Make a smooth paste and add a little water and bring it to a boil. When this masala starts boiling, add these things...
One chopped onion, grated or sliced ginger one inch long, and 2 sliced green chillies . Now add salt for taste and add the cleaned fish after removing it from salt water. Stir slowly and bring it to a boil on low flame.
Note : Here I have not used any spices like coriander or cumin. The fresh ginger, sliced onion and green chillies gives a unique flavor to this fish curry.
As we prefer to eat less spicy food in our home, I always use less amount of chillies. Those who eat spicy foods can add more chillies, according to their taste.
**Wow!! The super yummy fish curry is ready to serve with white rice or with Neer Dosa or even Idli... The same Masala can be used for another type of fish we get here called Lady - fish. **
Try this and lemme know your comments, please...
With love and regards, @geetharao...

It looks so yummy! When I was in Kerala a few months ago, I enjoyed fish curry there but I not sure whether that was the same as you mentioned or not.
