THE PERFECT COMPLIMENT TO ANY MEAT DISH IS A BRAISED RED ONION

This dish is simple, impressive and easy for clean up. Not only will you impress your guests with the outstanding flavour, but they won't want to leave your kitchen once they've basked in the aromatic fragrance of all the beautiful herbs and spices. Not familiar with how to braise these babies.. not to worry.

Start simple,
Grab a knife and a cutting board and begin cutting your red onions in half.
Once you've cut them all up, throw them into a deep pot with a touch of olive oil and begin cooking them gently for about 5-7 minutes. Don't forget to stir them around occasionally throughout that time. You want them to begin to soften.

Add in your,

  • red wine (half a cup for about 5 full onions)
  • a pinch of salt & pepper
  • a few sprigs of rosemary and thyme
  • a touch of brown sugar (half of a teaspoon)

Now,
Partially cover these bad boys and let them gently cook for about 10 minutes. You will begin to smell the beautiful components of each ingredient. You may begin to salivate.. but that's all part of the fun.

They are done once they are well tenderized and most of the liquid has evaporated.

Slap them on a dish to accompany,

  • Rib Eye
  • Beef Roast
  • Lamb Chops
  • Tomahawk Steak
  • Filet Mignon
  • Pork Chop
  • Turkey
  • Chicken Breast
    .. your options are literally endless.
