My 7-Day Juice Fast Experience: Day 2

in food •  8 years ago

Finishing up my second day of my 7-day juice fast and so far so good! Last night before bed I made up a pitcher of juice so I wouldn't have to prepare it in the morning. It was a mix of different berries, a couple green apples and spinach. That batch lasted until this afternoon. For my second batch, I made strawberry watermelon lemonade with a hint of ginger to give it a little zip. This one really hit the spot as I worked out in the yard all day. Then for dinner, I whipped up a green juice that consisted of spinach, kale, chard, romaine lettuce, kiwi and green apples.

While I felt a slight bit of fatigue in the morning, once I got a cup of juice down I was ready to go. I'm honestly surprised how much energy I have today without having a single caffeinated drink in days. Hoping the rest of this week goes just as well.

I tried to do a juice fast and just got massive headaches :(

Not sure if it's because I went too fast from eating crap to trying to be healthy. Now I am on a slow transition, it's better for my body.

The first time I did one I jumped right in after having a really awful diet and lifestyle and I understand the headaches completely! I decided to do this one because my poor eating habits were beginning to take over again but this time I slowly began eating a lot more salad and fruits. Even though I haven't been a meat eater in years I was beginning to eat a lot of cheese, certain processed foods for the sake of convenience, etc. and it was taking a toll on my body. I feel really good this time around and I think a lot of it has to do with preparing myself beforehand.
