How Hot is Hot ?
Before you bite into that delicious pepper on you favorite plate of mexican, do you know how hot it is going to be?
The unit of measure is called a Scoville scale; named after its creator, American pharmacist Wilbur Scoville. Scoville heat units are a function of capsaicin concentration.
So if you like Jalepenos, just know that the Habanero sitting is not just a little hotter. Try 43 times hotter.

Bird eye chilli's are about the same scoville rating as Chiltepin peppers. I use them when I cook Madras, to add a bit of kick. Once I put four Birds eye chilli's and two big tablespoons of very pure chilli powder in, that was so hot it gave me stomach pain for a few hours.
