Nutritional yeast comes from molasses. It's got a cheesy taste to it and is used in almost all vegan cheese recipes or can be sprinkled on things as is. It's deactivated so it doesn't rise and isn't the same. Brewers yeast comes from the brewing industry (beer etc) and dry yeast or bread yeast is activated which causes it to rise. Hope this helps =D

Thank you. I knew about brewers yeast but had no idea about nutritional yeast or that molasses are used. I'll try to find it in the store.

It's becoming super easy to find nowadays! I use it seriously for everything ;) I hope you find some, you can eat it plain if you want! It gives a huge burst of energy too so it's pretty much one of my favorite ingredients :)
