Method:

  1. First roast desiccated coconut, cashews, almonds and then grind them with little water.

  2. Marinate the chicken in salt, ginger garlic paste, red chili, red color, ground spices pwd and leave for 1 hour.

  3. Beat yogurt well, crush the fried onions nicely , add the yogurt and crushed onions to the roasted paste which we made in step 1 , add this to chicken and marinate for another 45 minutes.

  4. In a big pot add oil and clarified butter, add the marinated chicken along with coriander, mint and green chilies and let it cook on medium flame for 10 minutes, simmer the flame and stir occasionally .

  5. Till the chicken is cooked tender and oil floats, add fenugreek leaves, lemon juice and Cook for another 5 minutes.

  6. Place the piece of hot charcoal on a silver foil boat and place this on a spoon and in the chicken pot, place it in such a way that the charcoal should not get dipped/drowned in the gravy, we need just the smoky flavor of charcoal, cover the pot with a heavy lid so that the smoke of the charcoal does not go out, after 5 minutes, remove the charcoal piece.

  7. Your chicken is ready, garnish with fresh coriander and serve hot.
