Hello friends,

Do you like pie? Me, I love it very much, not only because of its flavor, but also because it's easy to make! For my pie, I always use apple as the basic fruit and often combine it with another fruit. This time I'll share with you my recipe of Apple Blueberry Pie. Let's get started!

Ingredients:

  • 3 pastry puff sheet (store bought), 1 for the pie base, the other 2 for braid and lattice
  • 4 medium apple royal gala, cut into thin slices
  • 1 cup of bluberry
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp of lemon juice
  • 3 tbsp all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp of cinnamon powder
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, cut into cubes
  • 1 beaten egg for egg wash

Method:

  • Using 2 pastry puff sheet, prepare the lattice and the braid for decoration, set aside in the fridge
  • In a clean bowl, mix apple, blueberry, granulated sugar, lemon juice, all purpose flour and cinnamon powder, set aside
  • Place 1 pastry puff sheet on the pie pan, puncture with a fork
  • Fill the pastry puff sheet with the fruit mixture
  • Spread the butter on top of the mixture
  • Place the lattice and braid around the edge and on top of the mixture
  • Brush the top with egg wash, sprinkle some sugar
  • Preheat oven at 180 °C and while waiting for the oven, keep the pie in the fridge before baking
  • Bake for one hour

You may want to check on your pie after 30 minutes baking, if the crust is quite golden brown, put aluminum foil on top and keep baking. We want the fruit to be soft without burning the crust.

That pie crust is a beautiful lattice. Great job.

Thanks! It's quite hard making the lattice and the braid when it's summer. But finally, I made it :-) Btw, I followed you :-)

Summer is always tough for lattice. I wish I had a temperature controlled kitchen haha ;)

You can always try the mother of all air conditioner... Opening the window :D

Where I live @ulys, outside is like 90-100F daily. It's cooler to be in the hot kitchen of 80F haha

Makes me wonder. It seems like you like baking indoor and being baked outdoor :D

HAHAHAH. Basically the same thing. :)
