“A year from now you may wish you had started today.” ― Karen Lamb

Well, yes – this is true, but it is also true from season to season haha! I am referring to the ongoing battle of the bulge…lol!

I said it to my family the other day and I will say it again now… we all seem to spend the entire Summer trying to lose weight so that we can look and feel good (during Summer) and then, just as the end of Summer rolls around – we look BLOODY FANTASTIC! Then… the cold winter creeps up on us and we turn to all the comfort foods – which like all devilishly delicious things – we enjoy to no end… no really, like it just doesn’t end! Haha! – And then “oh sh*t – it’s SPRING!” is the next thing that spontaneously pops out of our mouths! It is a perpetual catch 22 really! Haha!

Whilst I have eaten mostly carb free or low carb for over two years now, I mentioned in my post the other day “My Dirty Little Secret” that I have been slipping up quite a bit of late – due to working late nights and thus heading to all the WRONG things in the kitchen!

I promised on that post (well, I just mentioned it really – but that was a promise to me from me lol) that from that day forward, I would get back on track.

It is never easy climbing back onto the straight and narrow after having indulged in all the good (and bad for you) things in life, but… where there is a will, there is ALWAYS a way… and really speaking, I only wavered for a couple of weeks – but won that battle for over two years, so I know the odds are in my favour ;)

“weaning” is not really something that I believe in – because to my mind it affords room for “error justification” – so I am more of a “cold turkey” kind of gal!

Monday was day one of NO MORE CARBS

and still going strong - much like riding a bicycle really... you just get back to it!

I am not one to eat a lot during the day in general anyway, it is just WHAT I have been eating that has become the problem… and that is normally late at night anyway hahaha! But today, I decided to get back on track with removing the rubbish from my life!

My breakfast and lunch for the week have been a two boiled eggs and a tomato. That was all I have eaten and despite the horror (and the mild hunger pangs I felt due to repetitive spoiling) it was enough! The first day is ALWAYS the hardest! But once you reminded your mind, that your body does NOT need to STUFF itself to a point of discomfort, then you have won half the battle!

As for my choices, well – I am BIG “pro tomato” fan… and well – I LOVE eggs! They are both literally a super food!

A simple Google search on either will no doubt convince you!

Anyhooo…. I just thought I would share Day 1 with my Steemit family… lol

I feel thinner already!!! Hahaha!!! ;)

Until next time...

Much Love from Cape Town, South Africa xxx

I have fasted for up to 9 days in my life at a time, with no food, only water at times but the Lord was carrying me also LOL!!!

Truthfully, after the 2nd or 3rd day, people can often sail thru past that point - unless they have health related issues.

You have to intake some salt, not much starting on the 3rd day or you go squirelly in the melon a bit I have found.

Have a good weekend - I am sure you look fine and are healthy

(:

Wow @barrydutton that does sure sound like quite the challenge indeed... wonderful for the body, mind and soul though no doubt. (I cannot say, as I have never fasted - not intentionally anyway) but I have read a lot about it.

Salt... never an issue for me :)

Thanks for the lovely comment - and yes... feeling really good that I got back on track again. :)

Hope you have a magnificent weekend ahead too xxx

You too sister.

I hope you are holding your Bitcoin LOL, what a rise over night.

How to make Apple cider vinegar lemon honey tea:
I typically eye ball it, but it's about 2 cups water, one whole squeezed lemon, tablespoon honey, two cinnamon sticks, few dashes of cayenne pepper, 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar

Eggs and Tomato?
