Manny's Mexican restaurant. Great food for cheap price in a comfortable atmosphere.

Today I had lunch with my dad.

This is something that I don't do very often.

He wanted to have lunch at a place called Manny's that I had never heard of before.

Manny's is a Mexican restaurant in an area called Uptown.

Uptown is exactly how it sounds.

It's a place for people to go when they want to spend a lot of hard earned money.

Despite this, Manny's is really reasonably priced.

Right across the street from Manny's is a restaurant where you can take your dog to lunch.

That's the kind of place that Uptown is.

We ended up getting lost because Uptown is absolutely filled to the brim with one way streets and no U turn signs.

It's a real pain in the butt.

When we finally found Manny's I was impressed by how comfortable and cozy it looked.

As you can see...... from the outside it really just looks like an old country house.

The wind was blowing and birds were chirping.

It was really peaceful.

Right from the get go Manny's doesn't want to make any qualms about where you are.

Uptown baby.

The word Uptown was written in about 20 different places.

If you didn't already know you were in Uptown you could also tell by the fact that there were quite a variety of different kinds of SMU cheerleaders and sorority girls sitting at the bar.

Everyone seemed to be drinking a margarita but I was with my dad so I had a Coke and he had a glass of tea.

I like a place that's nice and dark.

I really don't know why people like bright atmospheres because they don't make me feel like relaxing.

Manny's was so dark that we needed to use the flashlight on our phones to read the menus.

We didn't mind though.

This kind of atmosphere is exactly what I was looking for.

I told my dad that I would probably come here a lot more often if I lived near this neighborhood.

You can tell from this picture that I'm using my flashlight to read the menu.

It was only one plastic page but there were quite a few options to choose from.

We decided that we both wanted nachos.

I found myself very impressed with the prices.

A half order of nachos was $9.99 and a full order was only $12.99.

I got a full order of Brisket nachos and my dad got a half order of Cowboy nachos.

The full order of nachos was a lot of food but not more than I could eat for lunch.

The chips were nice and crispy and the cheese was melty and delicious.

The meat was very high quality.

It really tasted like the meat the came right off the grill and went on a nacho.

For only $12.99 you get a big plate of nachos with a nice sized dollop of guacamole and a large side of jalapenos.

If you're looking for good Mexican food for a great price and you happen to be in the area of Uptown then you should definitely stop in Manny's.

The food is great and the atmosphere is amazing.
