Dinner in Bendigo

We were up in Bendigo last night, and decided to go out for dinner. With neither one of us a regular in Bendigo, we did the following. Found a spot to park the car near the center of town, just behind Bull street. Then we went for a short walk along Bull street, initially, we went into a pub but decided to look for something else, it didn't quite feel right.

The next place we had a closer look at was Stella, looked like a decent pizza place (a little upmarket/fancy) and it was reasonably busy, not completely full, but with enough people in and eating. I learnt long ago that an empty restaurant isn't always a good sign. So we went in and were shown to a table.

I noticed that they also did take away pizza and a few people came in to pick up their orders. After looking through the menu, the pizza's did look nice they were a little more gourmet than your regular variety. In the end however, I didn't pick pizza I picked the pasta with the duck. OK, it has a fancier name, which I don't remember.

The serving size was good, it smelled good, the wait time was very reasonable, and the pasta was nice and hot. How did it taste, excellent. The other half ordered the gnocchi, it too was also excellent.

Would I go back there for a meal, definitely, but it wouldn't be an every day occurrence, as the price was mid range, not too expensive, but not cheap either. I would give it 4.5 out of 5, took half off only because of the price.
