The trick to delicious starch free rice is the washing. No matter whether you buy the cheap big bags or the posh expensive stuff you still need to wash it. FYI I buy cheap rice because I know using this method it will be nice :)
PUT RICE IN PAN AND PLACE IN SINK
RUN TAP AND LET ALL RICE SINK IN WATER! SWIRL AROUND WITH HANDS AND WATER SHOULD SOON CHANGE COLOURS2910003.JPG
EMPTY
Repeat this process about five times, it may take five minutes but well worth it. when finished put on stove and fill pan with boiling water out of kettle the water will stick look murky but dont worry about this. Cook on a medium heat stirring occasionally to avoid rice sticking to bottom. it heat is too high it will stick.
When rice is nearly ready boil kettle
If water evaporates during cooking add more. When cooked place into a colander or sieve drain and then place in sink in a pan and run a cold tap slowly
Using a big spoon as rice will be hot even if water is cold, move the rice around and it should start to seperate, let the pan fill and empty a couple of times. Then with the pan empty sit in sink and pour on boiling hot water from kettle.
leave to soak for 2 or 3 minutes.
Drain and serve.
Add curry and chicken and wollah
Don't have sticky or dirty starchy rice again just take your time and wash well.
Hope you enjoy :)
