I have always been clueless when it comes to food and cooking. My repertoire has mostly consisted of fried eggs, peanut butter sandwiches and frozen dinners. However, a couple of years ago, I was given an old Weber Grill. You know the one: the old 18 inch, black kettle grill with wheels.
(You can grab a new one for about 80 bucks at Lowe's or Home Depot. Off-brand models can be purchased at WalMart or Aldi for as little as 30 dollars. Mine happened to be free.)
I was not confident at first. After all, I had never cooked anything. However, I really like being outdoors and I love the smokey flavor of food from a charcoal grill. I also love any activity that goes with drinking a few beers. I quickly developed a love of grilling.
But, here's the thing. I am still lazy. I am still poor. I still have no patience for complex recipes that require tons of time, a long list of ingredients, and careful attention.
I am a clueless dummy with a cheap, used grill. However, I make delicious meals for my family several times per week; and in this series of blogs, I will share simple methods that can turn literally anyone into a grillmaster in no time.
