This dish contain thin wheat flour rotis with a delicious puran stuffing in the middle.

The puran which is made with mixture of boiled mashed chana dal cooked with jaggery and cardamom powder melts as it hits your tounge........wow......

Prepration time: 60 minutes

taste: sweet

Ingredients:

  • Split bengal gram (chana daal)

  • Jaggery (gur) grated 1/2 cup

  • Saffron a pich

  • Green cardamom powder

  • Nutmegpowder a p0inch

FOR DOUGH

*Refind flour (maida) 1/2 cups

  • salt a pinch

  • puree ghee

METHOD:

to make it simple..,to leran..i divided it into 6 steps..

Step 1:
Wash and boil chana dal. drain and coarsly grind it. in a pan add the dal, grated jaggery, saffron, cardamom powder and nutmeg and mix well.(stuffing)

Step 2:
Cook, stirring all the time till dry. It should resemble a soft ball. Remove and cool. Divide the stuffing into 4 or 5 equal portion and roll into balls.

STEP3:
Now mix maida and salt. Add 3 tablespoons of ghee and sufficient water to make a soft dough. Cover with a damp cloth and keep aside for one hour.

STEP4:
Divide dough into 4 or 5 equal portions and roll into balls.Flatten each ball in your plam, stuff with one portion of puran(stuffing), cover and seal the edge.

STEP5:
Dust it with flour and rollout into four to five inches diameter disk of medium thickness. Heat a tawa and cook puran poli until done on both sides.

STEP6:
Remove. Serve hot with generous helping of pure ghee on it.
