Indian Traditional NEI POLI

Hi ,Every one first I said WISH YOU MANY MORE HAPPY NEW YEAR all of you.In this year I hope all reach their goals.

 Today is New Year for this I start new year with Indian Traditional desert. NEI POLI.

  I think all of you hear this name because this is famous.In India all make this dish after marriage at 11 the day function. This is compulsory in this day to make NEI Poli.

   NEI Poli makes in different way but hear I give simple way let's start.

Making of NEI POLI. :-

INGREDIENTS. :-

  • Bengal Gram(channa dal ) : 2 cups

  • Jaggery/suger. : 2 cups ( us Jagger it gives
    exact taste)

  • Maida. : 1 3/4 cup

  • Cardamon powder : 1/4 tea spoon

  • Turmeric powder. : 1/4 tea spoon ( for
    colour optional )

  • Butter/Gee/Oil. : 2-3 table spoon for kneading

  • Butter /Gee/Oil. :- for fry as required

  • Water : as required

  • Salt. : pinch

PREPARATION. :-

STEP 1. :-

 First you take one bowl.In this put maida,turmeric powder,salt and mix very well.

STEP. 2 :-

  Bow we add enough water to it and make very soft chapatti dough.

STEP. 3 :-

 Now we add 2-3 tea spoon butter/gee/oil to the dough and knead again until the dough become soft and pliable.

STEP. 4 :-

Now we cover the dough with moist kitchen towel and let it be rest.In this mean time we make filling.

STEP. 5 :-

For the filling first we boil the channa dal with plenty of water.Until it is soft but not mashy becareful about it.

STEP. 6 :-

Now we drain all the water and powder it in the mixie.

STEP. 7 :-

Now take the dal powder in a pan ,add the Jaggery and cardamon powder and heat it.The jaggery will melt and form a thick and gooey mixture.

STEP. 8 :-

After the dal mixture is cool enough to handle.Then we start making the dough into small balls.

STEP 9 :-

 Now we make marble size balls with the dough and lemmon sized balls with dal mixture. The dal mixture ball should be bigger than the dough ball.Then only the final POLI will taste good.

STEP 10 :-

First we take one dough balk roll out into a small circle.Flour the surface to prevent sticking.

STEP. 11 :-

Now we keep the sweet dal ball in center of the rolled out dough.For this pls follow the image.

STEP. 12 :-

Then we bring all the sides of the dough to the center to cover the filling completely.
Now the filling dough look like given image.

STEP. 13 :-

Now we form a circle on filling dough. For this we place it in between 2 greased plastic sheets.Just pres with your finger till expandes to the desired circumference.

STEP. 14 :-

Now we heat griddle pan,on heating this we cook the polis using some Gee /Butter /Oil until it convert to brown. Then we flip them another side pls wait until it get brown colour.

Then we transfer to serving plate

Now the POLI is ready to eat .If you eat this POLI in hot and spred some gee on this top,we get a excellent taste.Beside this taste remaining sweets are waste.
