Delicate potato casserole

Potato with onion, baked in the oven with cheese sauce. My husband's favorite dish. It's always a holiday for me when I cook this casserole. Lovely garnish, pamper your guests!

6 potatoes (large), cut into thin slices (0.5 cm)
1 onion, sliced ​​with rings
salt and pepper to taste
40 g of butter
3 tablespoons flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 cups of milk
1 1/2 cups of grated cheese

Preheat the oven to 200 ° C. Lubricate the baking dish with a butter.
Lay half the potatoes on the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Top with onion slices and add the remaining potatoes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

In a medium-sized saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add flour and salt and stir constantly with a whisk for one minute.

Add the milk. Cook until the mixture thickens. Add all the cheese immediately and continue stirring until it melts, about 30 to 60 seconds.

Pour the cheese over the potatoes and cover the dish with aluminum foil.

Bake 1 1/2 hours in a preheated oven (200C).
