If anyone has a hard on for a wine maker, I think I do. I am reluctant to say: I see Robert Mondavi as a mentor and pioneer wines but good God, Michael "and" David have my full attention...no pun intended. The brothers are a genius duo. Their family's cultivation of fruits and farming dates back to the 1850s in the Lodi region.
Visiting with a dear friend and her lover, which became a sinful evening, it was only proper to indulge in Michael David's 2014 7 Deadly Zins. Yes, God!!!
Earthy, as all old vine zinfandels can be, I immediately tasted the smoky nuance that makes this wine stereotypical. How does Michael David make their 2014 7 Deadly Zins unique? The complexity of flavors.
In case you blinked, yes, that was wine in a mason jar. LOL!!! My friend Sarah is all about naturalism, holistic medicines, nudity, one love, and pure exuberance. So, my wine ended up in a mason jar. So what?!?!?!
I give this wine 5 stars. What?!? Yes!!! 5 stars!!! They can do no wrong! Easily paired with smoked boudin or a brisket (I devoured both while drinking this wine).
Enjoy this wine with other smoked meats or stewed Italian dishes in order to distinguish the flavors. Please, fellow Steemians, remember to drink responsibly!!!
