There's nothing better on a cool day than a nice warm cherry turnover straight out of the oven.

@marxrab (Marx the rabbit) loves to work with puff pastry dough. Puff pastry dough is so magical. It starts off as this thin dough but once you pop it in the oven to cook it puffs up into a flaky pastry. Normally I prefer working with apples but since today is National Cherry Turnover Day I'm scooping spoonfuls of lovely cherry filling into my turnovers.

Today is the perfect day to sink my teeth into a warm and flaky cherry turnover. The weather here has been cool and it feels very much like fall. This rabbit took a long walk this morning and enjoyed the first signs the seasons are beginning to change.

This Purple Flower Popped Up At The End of August Last Year Too

I don't know the name of this flower but I haven't seen one all summer. Then, all of a sudden this week a few showed up in the yard. I remember seeing them around this time last year too. Even though I don't know much about them I'm taking it's appearance as a signal summer is slowly coming to an end. At least the end is bright and pretty.

My Garden: These Tomatoes Are Taking Their Time

I started my tomato plants late and now I'm worried they won't turn red before it starts getting cold. They have been taking their sweet time. Tomorrow I need to clip the tops and do some maintenance on them in the hopes of clearing off the extra leaves so the plant will focus more energy on the tomatoes.
