One of the traditional Sundanese food that has been there since the first but still sought until now is awug. This traditional food is classified into a snack. At that time, awug eaten by the Sundanese as a casual friend with a cup of warm tea. This unique food snack is made from rice flour, coconut, pandan leaves, and brown sugar. From the look, the awug is similar to a putu cake. The difference is, if the cake putu steamed in small bamboo pieces, awug steamed in a tin-shaped gunungan made of woven bamboo.
The tapered cone-like toe is called aseupan by the Sundanese. Asupupan that already contains the dough and then stored in the cage until the dough is completely cooked. If it is cooked, awug was so and ready to be served with grated young coconut. Awug most fitting enjoyed while still warm because the texture is still legit and sweet taste.
