My feijoada recipe - slow cooker

I thought I would share my interpretation of the brazilian Feijoada! It's sooooo good and easy to make. Feel free to replace ingredients or improvise.

Ingredients :

  • 1 pound black beans
  • 1 quart chicken broth
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • ¼ tsp liquid smoke
  • 3 bay leaves
  • 4 piri piris, dried
  • Salt and pepper
  • 3 pounds pork loin, cut une cubes
  • 10 bacon slices, cut 1 in wide
  • 6 big portuguese chorizo saussages
  • 1 orange, sliced

Soak black beans in cold water overnight. Then, ditch the water and rince the beans

Mix ingredients with the black beans.

Add water to cover the beans then put the meats on top.

Put the orange slices over the meat

Cook 8 hours (low temperature) in the slow cooker

Remove piri piris and bay leaves

ENJOY! It's very good with rice
