Hello, Steemians! I would like to teach you how to cook the most famous Thai noodle dish, Shrimp Pad Thai 🦐🦐
Let’s go!

Ingredients:

  • 3 cloves garlic, finely sliced
  • 2 shallots, finely sliced
  • 2 spoons of vegetable oil
  • 1 egg
  • 200 grams of Thai rice noodles
  • 100 grams of firm Tofu
  • 1 tablespoon of dried shrimps
  • 5 green onions (2 sliced)
  • 100 grams of bean sprouts
  • banana blossom sliced
  • 1 lime
  • 2 shrimps (you can also use other seafood or meat, for example squid, shellfish, chicken, pork, etc.)

Flavouring:

  • 200 ml of tamarind juice
  • 3 spoons of brown sugar
  • 100 ml of pure water
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of seasoning powder
  • 5 spoons of ground peanuts (3 spoons for cooking and 2 spoons for serving)
  • cayenne pepper
  • sugar

Step 1. Pad Thai Sauce

  1. Set your pan over medium heat, add 200 ml of tamarind juice and stew it.
  2. Add 3 tablespoons of brown sugar and stew it with tamarind juice.
  3. Add 100ml of water.
  4. Add 1 teaspoon of salt and 1 teaspoon of seasoning powder and stew it for 5 minutes.
  5. Remove the pan from the heat and pour the Pad Thai sauce into a bowl .

Step 2. Cooking omelette.

  1. Scramble an egg in a bowl.
  2. Set your pan over medium heat, add a little bit of vegetable oil, then add eggs when the oil is hot.
  3. Spread eggs on the pan and fry it making sure that the eggs don’t stick to the pan. When they turn yellow and solid, flip the eggs.
  4. Remove the omelette from the pan and roll it. Slice it in a way that is showed in the photo below.

Step 3. Cooking Pad Thai.

  1. Heat 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil on a pan.
  2. When the oil is hot, put garlic and shallots on the pan and stir-fry them.
  3. Put shrimps into the hot pan, add 4 tablespoons of Pad Thai sauce and stir-fry the shrimps for 5-7 minutes. Remove the shrimps from the pan.

  1. Add noodles and 6 tablespoons of Pad Thai sauce. You can also add a little bit of water to soften the noodles.
  2. Add dried shrimps, ground peanuts and tofu.
  3. Add green onions and stop the heat under the pan.

  1. Prepare shrimps, green onions, banana blossom, sprouts and lime on the plate. Decorate the plate.
  2. Put Pad Thai on the plate, put the slices of omelette on top of noodles. Your Shrim Pad Thai is ready to eat!
