Hello Steemians,
I am here to show you guys the next part of my food adventure in Nha Trang, one of the most beautiful coastal cities in Vietnam. If you missed my first part, you could read about it here.

This time, we’re gonna discover Nha Trang’s street foods with several local dishes. Let’s get it started now ^^

LAC CANH BBQ RESTAURANT – SMOKEY, CROWDED, HOT, NOISY and BUSY for 365 days

Beef grilled on charcoal stove

This Vietnamese BBQ restaurant is very popular with both locals and tourists. All the foods here are well marinated with honey and more than ten kinds of spices. You have to grill raw ingredients by yourself. This is a great place to experience local food, however I have to tell you that it’s very hot, very noisy and smokey. You will definitely sweat while eating and your clothes will smell afterwards, but it is totally worth it. I really enjoyed the friendly and fun atmosphere here, and the foods were nice, too.

SPECIAL NHA TRANG CUISINE
Ninh Hoa Grilled fermented pork roll (Nem nướng Ninh Hòa) – The roll is made from sliced pork skin and grilled directly on charcoal. It is often served with green papaya, green bananas, lettuce, fresh herbs, rice wrapper and a special sauce. Eating this “Nem” was fun since we have to wrap everything up by ourselves. Notwithstanding I was not really into it because the sauce was too spicy :(

Jelly fish rice noodles (Bun Sua) – There is nowhere else can you find this dish but only in Nha Trang. Its main ingredient is crunchy jelly fish with a delicate refreshing taste. It is served with fish meat, fish cakes, spring onions in sweet broth. It will be an incomplete without fresh vegetables, chilli and lime.

Seafood pancake (Banh Xeo) – This pancake includes rice flour, coconut milk, pork, shrimps, baby octupus, spring onions and bean sprouts. All the ingredients are mixed well together, and then fried to yellow brown. This is one of the favorite snacks of local people here. We can eat these lovely cakes with sweet and sour sauce or peanut special sauce.

“Can” Cake (Banh Can) – It’s a traditional rice cake cooked in a small clay pot. This cake is very popular in Southern Vietnam; you can find it easily in random food street vendors. I was very excited seeing the chef directly making the cakes, look how cool it is:

This cripsy rice cake comprises cake flour with many toppings like shrimp, squid, pork meatball and quail egg. The best way to enjoy Bánh Căn is dipping it into sour and sweet Nha Trang fish sauce ;)

“Bun Bo Hue”: beef and pork’s leg with rice noodle, in special broth.
You might think that this bowl is similar to Pho after reading my describation. However, they are totally different. The rice noodle in “Bun Bo” is round-shaped, thicker and bigger compared to the ones in Pho. And the ingredients to cook the broth are also dissimilar too. The soup of Bun Bo is sweeter I think, but I love the taste of them both.

“Hu Tieu Tron”- mixed rice noodle with meatball, fish cakes and Vietnamese special herbs.
I have to say WOW, Vietnamese cuisine is soooo diversified, there are several kinds of rice noodles here, with differnt shapes and the tastes are also slightly distinct. The noodle in Hu Tieu is the thinnest one I have ever seen, all the ingredients are well-mixed in a sweet special sauce, which tastes pretty yummy.

And here is a suggestion for dessert: fresh tropical fruits with yogurt and coconut milk - I love the pink dragonfruit, we cannot find them in Europe though. They looks attracting and tastes nice too, right?

How do you think about Nha Trang’s street foods ? Do they look yummy and tempting? And also I have to inform you guys that all of the dishes mentioned above are amazingly cheap. So why not plan a trip to this beautiful city and have a food journey on your own? I believe you will not regret for every pennies you pay for it :)

Thank you for reading my post, and see you next time with a brand new destination <3<3<3

I've never eaten that scary little one @justinlaak, I'm really afraid of mice... But they do eat mice in Vietnam...

I'm sorry I missed this latest one. It all looks so delicious. Those deserts would be very nice right now but I have to be careful as I'm a diabetic!
