What food to eat today? Kim Lian Kee Hokkien Mee Restaurant, @ Petaling Street, KL's Chinatown.

Hello Steemit, today is end of Ramadan , so I wish all muslim Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri ( Happy Eid). Today is Sunday, every muslim will back to home town or taking vacation to celebrate, so I went to Kuala Lumpur and decided to visit a restaurant called Kim Lian Kee Hokkien Mee 金莲记福建面.

The origin of Hokkien Mee

This restaurant has open more than 80 years and now open more branches in Malaysia. Back to 20s, this restaurant only serve Hokkien Mee which is originated in Fujian, China. It uses the bamboo cane-pressed method to cook and served together with black gravy which uses soy sauce, aromatic pork lard with his secret ingredient for this delicious food.

Hokkien Fried Noodle 福建面

Lor Mee 鹵麵

If you like the noodle with a soup, I recommend you Lor Mee. Lor Mee is popular and eaten by Hokkiens. The noodle is thick flat yellow noodles served with a thick starchy gravy. The tick gravy is made by corn starch, spices and eggs. The ingredients normally with shrimp, pork and veggie. If you want heavy taste, you can add on a teaspoon of black vinegar into the thick gravy, definitely will fill the taste.

Claypot Lou Shi Fen 老鼠粉

Lou Shi Fen also known as Silver Needle Noodles or Bee Tai Bak (米苔目) is a chinese noodle and it look like rat’s tail made from rice flour and cornflour. The noodle stir-fried with a generous amount of minced pork, egg and soy sauce then served in a heated claypot. The claypot helps to retain heat so the stir-fried noodle remains tender and smooth in the claypot.
