Introduction - dal dhokli is an Indian food which is famous in all over india but spacialy in Gujarat and Rajasthan Dal dhokli is a delicious and healthy food of india . Dal Dhokli is a delicious one pot dish which is flavored with a variety of spices and condiments making it delicious as well as completely wholesome. Makes a yummy and delicious gravy with lentils being the liquid/ soup for the dumplings and the flour in the dumplings thickens the dal a little bit and makes it into a saucy consistency like dish. Dal Dhokli is said to have originated in Gujarat state of India. Though as per few people the dish belongs to Rajasthan.
For dal -
1 cup Tuvar Dal – soaked (Toor Dal)
1 heaped tbsp Ghee (घी)
Salt to taste
½ tsp Turmeric Powder
¼ tsp Degi Red Chilli Powder
1 Bay Leaf
2-3 Kokum (Kokum)
1 tbsp Jaggery (Jaggery)
FOR DHOKALI -
1 cup Whole Wheat Flour
1 tbsp Gram Flour (बेसन)
½ tsp Turmeric Powder
½ tsp Degi Red Chilli Powder
¼ tsp Asafoetida (Asafetida)
Salt to taste
1 tbsp Oil (तेल)
Water
For temporing -
2 tbsp Ghee (घी)
1 tsp Mustard Seeds
¼ tsp Fenugreek Seeds (Methi Dana)
1 sprig Curry Leaves
5-6 Dry Red Chillies
2 Cloves (long)
1 inch Cinnamon Stick (Dalchini)
¼ tsp Asafoetida (Asafetida)
½ tsp Degi Red Chilli Powder
~ For Fried Peanut
3 tbsp Peanut
2 tbsp Ghee (घी)
