I learned this simple recipe while studying abroad in Florence, the secret to this recipe is that the bread crumbs/panko act as parmesan cheese so you don't have to add any! Now for the instructions...
-Chop however many onions you'd like, I like them a lot so sometimes I even put 2 in
-Heat some EVOO in a pan on low, throw the chopped onion in, and carmalize away
-While that's cooking, throw some pasta into boiling water and cook as directed on box
-Once the onions are almost finished throw the bread crumbs/panko in the pan as well, the amount depends on your taste
-Drain pasta and combine ingredients....done.
