Maple Syrup Taffy at Fortune Farms in Almonte Ontario

in food •  7 years ago  (edited)

Yum.... Liquid Gold. Who else loves maple syrup taffy... rolled in the snow. They tap the trees for Maple sap, boil it down until it is syrup and then boil some more to thicken up and turn into taffy... then we take some outside into the snow. Just watch the video below. This is pure sweet heavenly goodness right here on earth.

A Tradition every spring in Eastern Canada and something everyone needs to try.

Interesting. I always wanted to try tapping trees for maple sugaring but I'm not in the best area for it right now. Maybe some day!!

We made our own this spring. From 2 Sugar Maple trees in our yard.... with about 20 litres of sap we made 1/2 litre of Maple syrup

Yes it takes a lot of sap to make syrup, but it is so good. :-)
