My English Breakfasts -Fry-Up Blog- 1

Hi,

My Name is Craig. I live in Manchester, UK and I have a serious passion for making rather large English breakfast Fry Ups.

I thought it would be a good idea to start with sharing a few pictures of my fry-ups that I've made in the past;

This one I made last year, and is probably one of my favourites weighing in at around 3,500 calories.

I'll talk you through the ingredients;

Top left we have some sunny-side up eggs lightly basted on top of 2 round lightly-fried buttered potato cakes.
To the right of that we have a lone pork sausage infused with chilli accompanied by a home-made hash-brown/potato rosti.
Below the eggs we have black pudding (fried pigs blood) and fried button mushrooms. To the right is white pudding (pork meat with assorted fats and oatmeal).
The bacon, of course is smoked and fried until the edges are crispy. I made another large pork sausage and 2 smaller ones - because there's never enough sausage.
Fried tomato and BBQ butter beans well reduced so there is little/no gloop.

The condiments accompanying the fry-up are just as important as the ingredients themselves - for this one I had Coleman's English Mustard + Encona Hot Sauce to deliver a fiery kick!

Delicious! I thought so anyway.

Another one I made fairly recently and weighing in at a massive 4,200 calories was this BIG ONE - I called it the Valenstein (Created on one very lonely valentines day this breakfast stole my heart);

This one was so big I had to put it on a see-through fruit bowl. Seriously. Take another look.

The sausages on this breakfast absolutely make the whole dish. The sausage region is compromised of caramelised onion pork sausages (when they are fried they go fat and small so they are packed with fat and greasy flavour), regular thin and large pork+apple sausages. I'm actually quite disappointed with the bacon here, it's not crispy enough and it makes me sad looking back at it - ah well, I live to fry another day. The cherry tomatoes were fried in butter, as was the large homemade hash-brown in the middle which acts sort of like an edible centrepiece of love. The eggs were, again done sunny side up and sit on the potato cakes with black and white pudding to the top of the breakfast.

I decided to add some toast and butter this time because I felt the breakfast lacked carbs (joke). To compliment the breakfast I went for Cholulua hot sauce (slightly out of frame) on this one - which complimented it perfectly and a nice cup of English tea.

I hope by reading this post you have got a sort of an idea of what I mean to do over the coming weeks. I'll be posting exclusively to Steem every Thursday with a new bigger and better fried breakfasts. If there's any particular way you think I could improve posts like, for example, more detail of how I make the items or what they are please leave a comment below as I would to find out and improve my content.

so good!!!!!

That's perfection right there. Good work!

Man, that is a thoroughly delicious looking breakfast! I would have never guessed that this was an English breakfast. Please forgive me I'm just a simple American and I truly had no idea about English breakfasts. I've been eating oatmeal for breakfast every morning for about a month now. It's healthy but tomorrow morning (it's about midnight here right now in Mississippi) it's going to be difficult for me to choke down my oatmeal while I think of the pictures of the English breakfast!
