Have you ever experienced the sensational taste of the Nigerian Amala and Ewedu which hailed from the ancient city in Ibadan, a western region in Nigeria. One of the locally made foods from cassava is one of the best in Nigeria amongs all the swallow meals in Nigeria.
Amala is best consumed with various kinds of soup like Efo riro (peppered Vegetables), ewedu, gbegiri and beef, fish or chicken stew.
Of course many Nigerians knows about the food but this write up is mainly for foreigners tripping into Nigeria just for them to have a feel of some of the great things we treasure in Nigeria.
Amala is made from cassava, whereby its being transformed into a powdered form before arriving at the final consumable stage as shown in the picture.
Ewedu is one of the vegetables we have massively enriched with calcium useful for the body system. As shown in the picture it is the greenish colured soup accompanied with pepper stew and with gbegiri (soup made from beans).
In Nigeria when Ewedu pops up in your thoughts the next thing you think of is a well prepared Amala, and vice versa.
Why not try this out whenever you are in Nigeria and feel the enjoyment of a locally made meal which originated from Ibadan.
You can find the meal easily in all Hospitality industries located in all western states in Nigeria.
Try this out and praise me later for this awareness.20170813_114834.jpg
