Hi Steemian!! Here is my entry for the Steemit Culinary Challenge 14.
Theme : Divine Lemoned Dessert

Let's start now.

What you need :

  • 3 Eggs (only egg yolks)
  • Sugar 150g
  • Butter 150g
  • A gelatin sheet
  • 2 Lemons
  • Vanilla ice cream

For the meringue :

  • Icing sugar 30g
  • 3 White eggs

The recipe :

  • Put the gelatin sheet in a bowl of cold water

  • Prepare some zest of lemon

  • Cut the lemons in two but not in the middle, make one half bigger than the other
  • Press the lemons to extract the juice and set aside

  • Empty them completely then cut the bottom
  • Like this they don't fall
  • Put them in the freezer

  • Cut the butter into pieces, set aside

  • In 2 bowls separate white and yellow of the eggs, put whites in the fridge for the meringue

  • Add sugar and mix until it became white

  • Put the mix in a pan then add the lemon juice, the drained gelatin and zest of lemon

  • Cook at low heat and add butter piece by piece, slowly

  • When all is melted remove from the heat, let cool then put in the fridge

  • To make the french meringue, beat the white of eggs in snow then add the icing sugar gradually put in the fridge

  • I use muesli of a known brand (something with a "K") to make the bottom of the verrine

  • When the lemon mix is cold fill half the glasses

  • As you can see I added a little chocolate in the bottom of the large glasses

  • Take off the empty lemons from the freezer and fill them with vanilla ice cream and put the "hat" on it

  • In a freezer bag add the meringue and cut the corner of the bag this will serve as a socket pocket

  • With this system fill the rest of the glasses
  • With my cooking torch I lightly burn the meringue (sorry I can't take pictures when I do that!!)

  • It's time to set the plate ;)
  • With a knife I cut a long zest of green lemon

  • Put it on the meringue

Bon appétit!

Absolutely brilliant presentation. I would love to see a comparison of a natural xylitol sugar (healthy, regrows tooth enamel, fights cavities, infections) that has the same sweetness of unhealthy refined sugars.

Hey thanks for your reply ;) Sorry but I don't know what is xylitol sugar

@pickoum THIS WAS THE LAST ENTRY ACKNOWLEDGE FOR THE SCC #14 as of 12:38 am

Merci beaucoup por post @pickoum. Excellente choice.....lemon is always a favorite. Chocolate is as well and you managed to fit that in too. Lovely photographs and recipe instructions. Well done.

All the best. A bientot.

Thanks @bleujay ;) the chocolate was a last minute choice at the beginning I had planned without it. Finally it cut the acidity of lemon it was very good ^^

@pickoum, wow that's very pretty!
dessert served in a verrine - so French..

anyway, I wonder what that tastes like. Kudos for the pictures and the final presentation. Good luck!

Thanks @englishtchrivy :) If you wanna taste try it ^^ it seems to be difficult and long but it's an easy recipe. I like lemons in all forms I saw a lemon cheese cake in this SCC mmmmh yummy :)

@pickoum I would :)

yes, me, too I love cheese cake - more so zesty :)

Love the bright yellow colour in this one. Good for the vitamin C

Yes and at this time with no sun it's better to eat a lemon for the vitamins ^^

The vanilla ice cream in the lemon half is a nice touch!

Yes while doing this recipe I remember a dessert I really liked when I was young "citron givré" (freezing lemon). I do my own with vanilla, normally it's a lemon cream inside the frozen lemon.
Thanks for your reply ;)

Beautiful photos @pickoum! I love the frozen lemons ice-cream cups. Great idea.

Thank you very much @rebeccaryan :)
