Red Snapper Wrapped in Turmeric Leaves - Check how to do it at home!

in food •  5 years ago  (edited)

Hello my lovely people of the Steemit world!

It is after quite a long time that I am writing on the steemit.com site. This does not mean I was away from the steemit world!

I am actually juggling a little bit everywhere! The Steemit world is simply such a vast place to be!

Sometimes I am on Appics - I am loving it, as it allows me to be connected easily, sharing has never been so easy before!

Other times you will also see me on Steem Monsters, I do have couple of good cards.

Then you have all the other ways to be on steemit, like the esteem app, or the actifit app - yes i have this one too but not using to it's full potential.

Then also, we have busy.org, partiko app. Oops, I forgot...i am also using dtube as well as dlike... I am everywhere like I mentioned earlier!

And added to all that, we have my cooking world, my bistrot, my company etc...etc...

So coming to today's post...

I shared this dish - one photo only actually, couple of weeks ago!

It's a whole red snapper that I cooked wrapped in fresh turmeric leaves...and served on a bed of sauteed potatoes!

Very simple steps...

Season the fish with salt, pepper, lemon juice, olive oil...

Then first wrap, with the fresh turmeric leaves.

Next step is to wrap it again, now in aluminium foil, to prevent too much burning of the leaves.

Place the wrapped fish on direct fire, and turn over after 7 mins.

After 15-17 minutes of cooking on the direct fire, this is the result you will get...

Serve as soon as you open the foil and turmeric leaves!

The smell that will come out is simply out of this world!

Goes perfectly with a nice potato garnish and a lemon butter sauce!

I didn't even know you could use turmeric leaves for cooking.
Fortunately my turmeric plant is still alive in the conservatory so I was able to have a taste. Very interesting flavor indeed!

If the plant survives winter I will definitely try this next summer.
