Bacee fish (cork) has a very high economic value. Wild corks caught from rivers, lakes and swamps in Aceh Sumatra are often salted before being traded between islands.

Salty is one of the dried fish is quite expensive. In addition, fresh cork fish, mostly sold alive, is an important source of protein for villagers, especially those close to swampy areas or rivers.
