Traditional Indonesian food (Getuk)

this time I will share about the typical Indonesian food, this one light snack made from sweet potato, this one easy food can we central Java and East Java.

As mentioned earlier, the main ingredient for making a getuk is cassava. With the development of the era and technology, now began to appear many getuk with various variations. Some follow the times by adding cheese and chocolate, but others still retain the traditional value by simply adding brown sugar.

Materials needed to make a getuk

Materials Getuk Lindri
1 kg of cassava that has good quality
300 grams of sugar
1 teaspoon salt
Food coloring to taste (red, green, yellow)


Materials Getuk Putri Spray
1 finely shredded coconut
1/2 teaspoon of fine salt


How to Make a getuk

  • First peel the cassava first, then wash it with running water.
  • Cut cassava with medium size.
  • Furthermore boiled cassava until completely cooked and the texture becomes tender. Once cooked and then lift and chill.
  • Mashed cassava that has been boiled until smooth.
  • When pounding, add little by little sugar and salt, make sure all mixed well.
  • Then take the dough and divide into several parts, give the food coloring and stir until the color changes.
  • Print dough getuk that has been dyeed, set aside.
  • For sprinkling, mix coconut shredded and salt, mix well, then steam for a while.
  • Getuk lindri ready to be served with a sprinkling of grated coconut.
