Having trouble gaining weight and sick of eating the same old thing..

Check out the following recipe. This contains approx 1000 calories and the source of that calories is determined by you.
Also the ingredients are easy to find. Almost 50% of your RDA is achieved through this shake.
Banana and Strawberry Weight Gain Shake

Total | 1081 | 69 | 64 | 69 |
Note:
- Calories are in kcal.
- Protein, fats and carbs are in grams.
- Choose strawberry flavored or banana flavored Protein powder.
Directions:
Place all ingredients in a blender, and gently blend until all protein powder lumps are gone.
Feel free to tweak the recipes as needed, and add in additional ingredients to taste.

When you were trying to gain weight was the aim to put on muscle mass or just overall body mass? Were you also training to gain weight as well as increasing your calorie intake?

Yep my goal was to put on muscle mass. Mass gainers just increase your body mass which makes you bloated and heavy, since they contain a lot of sugars.
If you don't have protein powder, replace that with egg whites, that'll help.
