This lentil burger recipe is ideal for children who do not eat legumes or for families that are vegetarian or vegan.

This is one of the many things that we Venezuelans do, for like who says "pa' convatir la crisis" economic and therefore food we live in our beautiful country. The ingredients to prepare this rich recipe, they are very common and easy to obtain, as well as their preparation, it is nothing of the autumn world, for the Venezuelans who read this, it is like making a "arepitas" of lentils, which "aliñaremos" o will season as his was a normal meat.

INGREDIENTS:

As I mentioned in the previous paragraph, the ingredients are easy to obtain, what they can vary are the names with which we know them in the different countries of America and the world.

  • Lentils about 250 grams.

  • 1 A cup of corn flour, or in the absence of a cup of bread crumbs or grated, I do not recommend the use of wheat flour since it would give a slightly watered consistency and we want the mixture to have a firm consistency, to be able to handle them better.

  • 1 large onion.

  • 2 Cloves of garlic.

  • Adobo (mix of spices and salt, use a small amount)

  • Oregano to taste.

  • Cilantro and chives

  • Peppers.

  • Salt to taste.

  • Corn oil (the one you prefer to fry)

PREPARATION



The first thing you should do is place in a bowl the 250 grams of lentils, and cover them with plenty of water, this should be done about 4 or 5 hours before the preparation, because we need the lentils to be soft and this we obtain when they absorb the lentils. enough water, after 4 or 5 hours of soaking will notice that the lentils increased their volume and absorbed the water that we put in the container, once this is done, we proceed to pour them in a blender or grinder and proceed to crush them, grind them or liquefy them, until obtaining a homogeneous mixture or of pasty texture.

On a cutting board, we proceed to chop the onion and peppers finely, chop cilantro and chives, crush the garlic, or cut it finely, we put all this in a bowl, in which we will add the crushed lentils, we mix all the ingredients , once mixed, we add the * "Adobo" * the salt the oregano and any other condiment that you want to add (of your preference, I would choose the cumin, curry, and a little pepper) we mix again and add the corn flour or the bread crumbs, and voila, we will obtain a homogenous mass and with a lot of flavor.

once we have the dough we will proceed to make small arepas, or nogetts of lentils, that is to say a round shape like the typical hamburger meat, we put a pan with oil to fry (a small amount) to heat, once it is hot we put our arepas, nogetts or meats to cook, you have to let them cook very well, because the lentils are not cooked, once they are golden, the lentils are removed and put to drain on a dish with absorbent paper.

You can accompany them with rice and a delicious salad of lettuce and tomatoes, or just put together a succulent and fun vegetarian burger, dare to invent in the kitchen, and especially to eat every day more healthy and a little more organic, this will change your life full.
