Whats on the menu...eating to live.

Fuel up for success.

One thing that I have come to realize about this life that we are given an opportunity to participate in is that what we put into it is what we can expect to get out. Now, that's a fairly broad statement so let me break it down a bit. The age old saying "You are what you eat" most definitely applies and that is not just for food for the body but also food for your mind, your heart and your soul.

In order to be what you desire to be you need to feed the hunger of all four elements. The synergistic effect that will come from doing this will further enhance the results of your efforts. The question I hear you ask though is "where do I start" and that is a great question.

Which came first, the chicken or the egg?

I personally think that working on all four simultaneously is of great benefit, however, I also believe that the first element, food for the body is paramount in keeping you on track. Here's why I think that.

When I reflect back to various events or opportunities in my life I realize that my physical ability at the time played a large part in the outcome. By that I mean when I was less energized I would put in less effort, if any at all, due to fatigue. Too tired, can't be bothered, deal with it later and other attitude short falls would creep in. Even if I gave my maximum possible effort at the time, the result would still be tainted as I would have given more if I had more to give. A lack of energy changes your mindset and therefore alters your path.

Apart from not being mentally 100% committed there is also the aspect of emotions taking over and steering you astray. For example anger or perhaps disappointment at the way things are progressing may drive you to act out those feelings in a way you find to be detrimental to your advancement. Having an energized body will give you the physical strength to combat the challenges you encounter with a more positive mental approach.

I think I can, I think I can...

We've all had times where we were the little red engine that thought they could only to run out of steam before getting over the rise. Our strength eroded by the forces of opposition, stopping us in our tracks and sometimes pushing us backwards in the process. All four elements, body, mind, heart and soul are under siege in those times. These are the times you will hear people say things like "keep your chin up" or "don't lose heart". That is sometimes easier said than done which leads me to another one that you may have heard and that is "keep your strength up". This, in my opinion is the egg that comes before the chicken.

A combination of the right diet and exercise are the foods for your body. Now, I don't claim to know it all but I am exploring this avenue and feel that I am having success. I am not there yet, I have a long way to go but the only way to get there is to start taking steps. Check out our dietary introduction video "What We Eat".

Put your diet at the top of your priorities and that will provide the fuel you need to feed the other elements in your journey to a Shackle Free Destiny.
