I remember getting real sick eating one that wasn’t ripe when I was a kid. Ever since the smell is strangle sickly sweet.

    Yeah, ya get that. But still worth the try I think, very interesting texture. We had one in the yard growing up. I found this because the new growth really stood out. Cheers.
