Today I am going to share a recipe called Chicken Black-Pepper also known as Chicken Kalimirch.
Preparation process is easy and simple to follow.
Preparation Time: 15-20 Minutes
Cooking Time: 25-30 Minutes
Servings: 4
Ingredients required for marinating:
- 1/2 kg - Chicken (with bones)
- 1 Cup - Curd
- 1 Teaspoon - Fenugreek leaves
- 1/2 Teaspoon - Black Pepper powder
- 1/4 Teaspoon - Salt
- 1 Teaspoon - Ginger-Garlic paste
- 1 Teaspoon - Lemon juice
Ingredients required for gravy:
- 6 Tablespoon - Vegetable oil. 4 tablespoon for gravy and 2 tablespoon for frying chicken.
- 5 Onion - 3 required for boiling with cashew nuts and 2 for cooking.
- 1 Teaspoon - Finely chopped ginger
- 4 - Green chilly (finely chopped)
- 1/4 Cup - Cashew nuts
- 1 Teaspoon Pepper powder
- 1/2 Teaspoon - Cumin powder
- 1 Teaspoon - Garam masala powder (Masala Salt)
- 1 Teaspoon - Ginger-Garlic paste
- 1 Teaspoon - Fenugreek leaves
- 2 Tablespoon - Coriander leaves
- 2 Tablespoon - Butter
- 1/4 Cup - Hung curd
Method:
Put chicken pieces into a bowl with all the ingredients mention above table “Ingredients for Marinating the Chicken”. Mix well and keep it aside for 1.5 to 2 hours for marinating.
Boil onion and cashew nuts together for 5-7 minutes in one cup of water.
When onion and cashew nuts gets boiled, drain the water and let it cool completely at room temperature. When it’s get cool put it in a grinder and make a fine paste by adding 2-3 tablespoon of water if required.
Cut the onion which we have left for gravy into thin slices.
Heat a pan add 4 tablespoon of oil, ginger-garlic paste, finely chopped ginger, green chili and sliced onion. Sauté till onion gets golden brown.
Now add onion and cashew nuts paste and mix it well. Add masala salt powder, black pepper, cumin powder and salt. Again mix it well.
Cook it slowly on low flame till oil comes on surface and keep stirring in between.
Add butter, fenugreek leaves, chopped coriander leaves, beaten hung curd and mix it well. Cook it for another 6-7 minutes on low flame and keep it aside.
Now take another pan add 2 tablespoon oil and add marinated chicken, fry it on medium flame till it gets light brown.
Add the fried chicken into the gravy with 1 cup of water. Cover the pan and cooked it for 8-10 minutes or till chicken get cooked properly and oil comes on surface.
Your Chicken Black Pepper is ready to serve.
