Anyone Remember Hard Yellow Lumps in the Sugar as a Kid?

Want to know why you don't see them anymore? Sugar silos have easier access to bathrooms now. Seriously.
Do you have any idea how long it used to take to climb up to the top of a sugar silo, down the outside and trek to a bathroom?

Let's just say it's quicker to take a whiz now.

It's Amazing What You Learn Working Food Processing Jobs

  • How many insect bits are allowed in a jar of fruit spread
  • The non-food grease buildup on fake tamale wrap
  • The use of additives to cover unwanted colors/textures/odors
  • The basic processing methods you never suspected

Life is amazing when your food supply is clean.
Some of the food facts I know make me positively green. :D
