Surprise Vegan Cakes Appear In UK Supermarket - Veganism Continues To Rise!

Morrisons supermarket in the UK once repelled me completely with it's obviously low quality food standards and almost total absence of healthy/organic products. Recently though, the one near to me has significantly shifted it's direction and has upped the quality and variety of organic/healthier options - was well as it's prices! Today I found a bunch of vegan sweet treats - let's test them in the name of science.. Or.. at least I'll eat some and tell you about it. :)

I was surprised today to see not one, not two, but actually a range of maybe close to ten different vegan friendly biscuity things in Morrisons in Norwich, UK. I usually avoid Morrisons (and supermarkets in general) because I know that most of their products are a mixture of half-baked food science, GMOs and minimal minerals. However, from time to time I end up in there and at least now I can report they are moving in a decent direction.

Today I tested out some of their 'free from' range - which in this case is free from eggs, dairy & gluten, which is perfect for me.

Here we have belgian chocolate 'tiffin', chocolate orange slices and fruit/nut snack bars.

These are all surprisingly decent quality and all they really lack is organic ingredients to make them a great option for the occasional fun snack for whatever occasion you want to use them for. As always, I highly recommend a diet based in quality raw plants and wholefoods, but for the odd break from the truly healthy option - these are something worth considering, especially in the christmas period when junky foods appear all the more frequently!
