Hi my name is Brandon, I am a Peruvian cook and today I am sharing with you some recipes with Oatmeal , in Peru we consume Oatmeal most of the time at breakfast , we actually drink it and most of Peruvians like it since it's easy to get and cook , tasty and contains fiber, this fiber increase the feeling of fullness, making Oatmeal a great choise for breakfast. Recipe 1:
Oatmeal with Cinnamon and cloves | 4 Servings
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 Cups of oatmeal (pre-cooked if possible)
- 2 Cinnamon sticks
- 2 Cloves
- 1500 ml of water
- Sugar to taste
- Pinch of salt (optional)
Directions:
- In a pot (large one would be great) put all the ingredients
- Bring to a boil and let it boiling for 5 min
- let it rest and then you can drink it as it is or you can make an extra step!
- Some people like it blended (as me lol)
- Blend it but don't forget to remove the cinnamon and clove, you should end with something like this
Recipe 2:
Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal | 4 Servings
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 Cups of Oatmeal
- 2 Cinnamon Sticks
- 1500 ml of water
- 2 Big acid Apples (4 tiny acid Apples is ok too)
- Sugar to taste
The flavors of the cinnamon and the acidic of the apple combined with the texture of the Oatmeal makes this drink a great one!
Directions:
- Peel and chop apples into small pieces
- In a large pot put all the ingredients and bring it to a boil let it boil for 5 to 7 minutes what we want is to cook the apples a bit so they get softer
- Once is cooked let it rest for 7 minutes and then blend it you should end whit something like this
Recipe 3:
Chocolate Oatmeal | 4 Servings
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 Cups of Oatmeal
- 2 Cinnamon Sticks
- 1500 ml of water
- 1/2 Cup of dark coco powder or chocolate chips
- Sugar to taste
You can add more cocoa powder if you want , it's up to you I love this recipe since this is the one my grandma prepared for me when I was a kid.
Directions:
- In a large pot put all the ingredients and bring it to a boil let it boil for 3 -5 minuts you may want to stir a bit so the coco powder can disolve .
- let it rest and that's it!, You can drink it as it is or you can blend it! (Do not forget to remove cinnamon sticks )
