Sauteed Spinach and Mushrooms 🍴 recipe for a delicious side dish

Today I’m going to be sharing with you a recipe called Sauteed Spinach and Mushrooms. This is recipe is a very filling and savory side dish. It is one of my favorite ways to cook spinach. You can make this dish with a variety of meals, and if you love mushrooms this is the perfect to add to your meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 Onion
  • 1 12oz Bag of Spinach
  • 8 oz Mushrooms
  • 2 Tbsp Butter
  • Salt and Pepper

The presentation is very nice as well. If you serve this in a nice shallow bowl you’ll have the deep hues of the spinach and the muted brown tones of the mushrooms!
Good inside and out!!
To make this dish, you want to start off by getting your vegetables prepped. I always like to start doing that. You want to clean your mushrooms off you, want to make sure your spinach is nice and clean. If you use the bagged pre-washed spinach this step is straight forward. A lot of the time it will already be triple washed.If you use just picked spinach make sure you fully clean it and remove all dirt particles.

You want to go ahead and slice your mushrooms. Not too small, just some nice slices that when you bite into them you will get the full mushroom flavor. Next chop your onion into lengthwise pieces.
Now that all the vegetables are prepped, heat up a saucepan then melt down two tablespoons of butter. Next add your mushrooms and onion. You want your mushrooms and onion to cook down and release their moisture. When they become tender and have made a nice sauce, add your spinach to this mixture.

It is not going to take that long for the spinach to wilt down. As soon as it hits the pan its going to start to cook. Toss it with the mushrooms and onions season with a dash of salt and pepper and voila!
