Hi esteemians, I would like to share to you the recipe I've learnt from my late mother-in-law when she was still alive.
The mud fish was boiled with soy sauce, vinegar, pepper, garlic and I put a little msg on it.
Ingredients:
2 kilos mud fish
1 and 1/2 cup of soy sauce
1 cup of vinegar
5 cloves of garlic minced
1/2 teaspoon of pepper
a pinch of monosodium glutamate
Oil for cooking
Tamarind for the soup
Here is the procedure how I cook my delicious recipe.
My easier way to kill this fish is to put them on a pail then pour some vinegar and salt,in that way the mud fish will jump to death hahaha. After that you will notice that they are no longer moving so this is the time to wash the with clean water. On a sauce pan boil the fish with soy sause,vinegar,garlic pepper and msg. Let them be tender and let the mixtures evaporate this means that the fish already absorb the pampalasa that I put.
This time the fish are now ready for frying. In a separate frying pan preheat the oil. Put the fish in it then fry.
This is the way I fry the fish. It's up to you if you want crispy or not. But I suggest crispy.
For the tamarind soup.
Boil tamarind with water in a sauce pan. When the tamarind is ready put them on the bowl with the water. Add some salt then press them until the laman or the inside of the tamarind will go out.
Then your done.. Get some rice and pour the tamarind soup on it with the fish. Happy eating! Thank you for dropping by. Til my next blog.
