QUESADILLAS VENEZOLANAS

Ingredients:

1/2 kilogram of wheat flour
100 grams of margarine or butter
4 eggs
1 cup of sugar
1/2 cup of milk
1/2 tablespoon of granulated yeast
1/2 teaspoon salt
200 grams of grated semi-hard white cheese
Anise in grains
Nutmeg
Cinnamon
1 egg to paint

preparation:

To make quesadillas, first preheat the oven to 180 ° C.

Warm the milk a bit, add the yeast and let it rest for 15 minutes.

Then add the salt, margarine or butter, 2 eggs and a half cup of sugar.

Mix and knead everything very well, you can sprinkle flour to facilitate the kneading.

When the mass is homogeneous, let it rest for 20 minutes.

Then 2 eggs are taken and the egg whites are separated from the yolks, the egg whites are beaten until the snow point and then the yolks, half a cup of sugar, the grated cheese, the cinnamon powder, the anise and the nutmeg are added. taste.

Mix everything again and with this we obtain the filling of the quesadillas.

Now take the dough is dusted with flour and stretched with a rolling pin, cut in circles, you can use a glass or wide-mouthed cup, and bend the edge to form a square basket, close and join the corners, with a little beaten egg, which will then be used to paint the quesadillas.
Once ready, the dishes are filled with the previously elaborated mixture without overflowing.

Paint the quesadillas with the beaten egg and bake for 15 or 20 minutes until they are cooked and browned

Let the quesadillas rest before serving, you can eat warm or cold.
